Road to the Ram Jam

With art direction from the world-famous Hatch Show Print, I gave myself a simple ground rule with the Road to the Ram Jam promotion: Stay true to Hatch's print aesthetic. That meant—as much as possible—designing everything digitally as if it had to be physically set and locked up on press. 

 

Using scans of various vintage woodblock typefaces, cutting and individually setting every headline, reproducing the physical limitations in kerning and variations in ink coverage, reproducing overprinting effects, off-registration, etc. we created a faithful digital interpretation of Ram Jam's off-line feel.
